Welcome to Sydney!
Sydney is the not only the oldest but is the largest city in Australia and is one of the world's most vibrant and famous cities. It's famed for the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.Check into your accommodation in the heart of the city and we will meet you at the Welcome Dinner. This will give you an opportunity to get to know your fellow riders on the tour. We will also go over the tour details including a review of the itinerary and safe group riding practices.
Day 1 – Sydney to South Bowenfels – 304 km (189 miles)
Today is our first ride day. We will meet you in the lobby of the hotel and arrange transportation for you to the bike hire office. Once everyone has completed their paperwork it's time to hit the road.Leaving Sydney, we will ride through the Blue Mountains and visit a beautifully restored 1960’s hut that offers spectacular views out over the Jamison Valley and across to Mount Solitary. Once over the mountains we will ride some interesting roads through the Kanangra-Boyd National Park and surrounding areas before arriving in South Bowenfels.
Day 2 – South Bowenfels to Mudgee – 247 km (154 miles)
We start the day riding along the western edge of the Wollemi National Park and through the Capertee Valley, the second-largest canyon in the world. It is also the widest canyon in the world at 30 kilometres wide, 1 kilometre wider than the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA.We continue to our lunch stop which is in a renovated cottage on the Red Hill Mining Precinct where gold was first found in 1870. The discovery of gold here began what has often been described as ‘the last of the poor man’s gold rushes’.After lunch we will visit a private motorcycle museum housed in one of Mudgee’s many wineries featuring a collection of vintage motorcycles spanning from the 1920s to the 1970s before making our way into Mudgee for the night.
Day 3 – Mudgee to Denman – 288 km (179 miles)
The gold rush era of the 1800s were largely centred around the historic villages of Sofala and Hill End and today we will get to experience some of that history as we ride through both of these towns. After our lunch stop in Rylstone, a historic town located near the western end of Bylong Valley, we will ride one of our favourite motorcycling roads, Bylong Valley Way. This road winds it’s way through the Bylong Valley which is located along the northern edge of Wollemi National Park. The road has a mixture of nice curves and sweeping bends, winds its way up over a few mountain ridges and is not closed in by trees so you get to experience some amazing scenery.
Day 4 – Denman to Sydney – 331 km (206 miles)
On our final day we will first take a quick ride through another of our famous wine regions, the Hunter Valley, where we will stop for our morning tea break.Leaving one of the best for last, our run back to Sydney takes us down another of our favourite motorcycling roads, the Putty Road, which features not only long scenic straights but also every type of corner, from switchbacks to sweeping bends and everything in between.Once in Sydney we will drop the bikes off and arrange transportation for you back to the hotel in Sydney. The last activity of the tour is the Farewell Dinner where we can re-live our trip and exchange details with the new friends that we have just shared the road with for the last 4 days.
